PA Photos launches, announcing representation of 2 new archives
Leading UK editorial picture agency, PA Photos launched this month. The agency unveiled a new public website and online picture library, and announced the representation of two new archives.
The new website brings together the picture products and services of PA and EMPICS, which include:
- The PA Picture wire - the UK media's leading source for news, sport and showbiz pictures
- The PA Photos picture library - worldwide news, sport and showbiz photography, past and present.
- ShootLive - the award winning and unique real-time digital photography streaming system
- Commissioned sports and entertainment photography
- Photography and media solutions for PR companies
- Rights owner representation
PA Photos also announced the representation of two new archives for customers:
- Sport & General - a fascinating collection of 20th century UK news, sport, personalities and events. The S&G collection is a vast archive of over 2 million pictures - many of which have not been seen for decades. The Archive Team are rescanning and digitising these pictures daily, so that pictures with log in access can search this re-discovered resource.
- Haymarket Publishing - never-seen-before studio shots of famous footballers, cricketers and football fans, from Haymarket's 442 magazine, such as Wayne Rooney, Shane Warne, George Galloway and Badly Drawn Boy!
Customers who previously had a log in for the EMPICS site will be able to access the picture library here using the same details, and lightboxes have been transferred for continuity of service. The team of dedicated Account Managers from EMPICS are on hand with their in-depth knowledge to ensure a high quality of customer service continues.
The established and well respected EMPICS Sport operation continues its wire service. Pictures from the Press Association, EMPICS Sport and EMPICS Entertainment are accessible in the picture library and through PA Photos' network of international agents. UK picture buyers can also access the Associated Press archive and current production.
