PA Photographer wins Scottish Press Photography Award

PA's Chief Scottish Photographer, David Cheskin picked up the 'Photographer of the Year' award at the 2005 Scottish Press Photography Awards in Edinburgh last night, for his coverage of Scottish news and sports events last year.

Speaking about his success, David said, "I wanted to represent the key events of the year in Scotland, but also illustrate the more unusual pictures that can be captured at everyday news events. This is the first time I've entered the awards, so I'm very happy to have received the prize for 'Photographer of the Year'."

In addition to the Scottish Press Photography Awards, PA photographers have scooped prizes at the World Press Awards, British Press Awards and the Picture Editor Awards this year, demonstrating PA's dedication and expertise in covering UK news and sport.
