A winning night at the Picture Editors' Awards
Three Press Association photographers won in five categories at the 2007 Picture Editors' Awards, and three more received special awards in this year's prestigious competition.
Cathal McNaughton won the ultimate accolade: Fujifilm Photographer of the Year. He also won Royal Photographer of the Year, and completed his hat trick with the Nature and the Environment title.
"I'm both delighted and shocked to have won last night", said Cathal McNaughton. "I've received nominations before, but this is the first time I've won. I can definitely speak for all the PA photographers in saying we're really happy with our achievements this year."
Martin Rickett and Rebecca Naden also triumphed, taking home prizes for News Photographer of the Year and Sports Picture of the Year respectively.
Special awards went to Niall Carson in the Portrait Photographer category, Lewis Whyld for Royal Photographer and Andrew Milligan for Nature and the Environment.
Martin Keene, Group Picture Editor said: "It was a brilliant evening for PA Photos. Our photographers should be very proud of their success in this year's awards."
